When we moved into our warehouse we knew we were going to have to renovate and fix things. What we did not know is that the roof needed to be replaced. Many attempts were made to fix it but alas it is in need of replacement.
While I am unable to provide pictures right now due to the amount of pallets still left to be unpack, we are currently awaiting a bid from a local roofing company to replace a metal roof on a 40+ year old 5000 sqft warehouse. However, we have started to make a few renovations to our common area. We have taken an old office in the back of the warehouse and have gutted it to make it into our bedroom. That's right, we live where we work. From there we will be running an electrical box off the one in the front of the build to the back. A 200 amp box which when all hooked up and outlets placed will power a stove, refrigerator, freezer, water heater, washer, dryer, and lights.
Once we are done with this we will be running the plumbing to the sinks, water heater, shower and toilets. The back of the warehouse will be partitioned off so that it will be separate from the rest of the warehouse. This will serve as our common area for those we minister to.
As soon as we have renovated this section, we will focus on building cabins in the back to house those we minister to. This too will require electrical power. We will be enclosing the back are with a privacy fence so that our abused moms and children, along with our veterans who stay there will have a safer environment.
We have begun to seek out grants and donations to make this possible. Our first attempt at a grant is with Home Depot. Unfortunately we have not heard back from them and it has been months. So we are seeking out another source from none other than Larry the Cable Guy. He donates to a lot of worthy charities and we are hoping that they will consider taking us on as they will be meeting this November to discuss the matter.
So as things unfold, and as I am able, I will update this post with pictures so you can see the progress. In the mean time, if you wish to help us make this a reality you can go to our donation page and make a tax deductible donation to help us out. Check back and see the progress.
